In the third quarter and in the three quarters of 2020, the Atende Group achieved better results than in the corresponding periods of the previous year. Thanks to the maintenance of general and administrative expenses at a level similar to the last year’s, the operating profit improved (PLN 2,776,000 compared to PLN 40,000 a year earlier), EBITDA profit (PLN 6,030,000, an increase by 51% y / y) and net result of the Atende Group (profit of PLN 1,811 thousand compared to a loss of PLN 1,400 thousand in the third quarter of 2019).

It is worth noting that the percentage margin of gross profit increased both in Q3 and cumulatively, reaching 32.8% (increase y / y by 7.1 pp) and 34% (increase y / y by 10.5 pp), respectively. This is a reflection of a positive phenomenon taking place both in the parent company and in its subsidiaries, consisting in a greater share of services and sales of own products. In particular, the increase in the share of services causes a significant increase in the margin with a simultaneous decrease in revenues, which also explains the decrease in revenues in the reporting period compared to the previous year. It should also be remembered that in 2020 the results of Sputnik Software are not consolidated (the shares held in the company were sold by the Issuer at the end of 2019).
Parent company Atende S.A. in the third quarter of 2020, from sales revenues at a level similar to last year’s, it achieved a gross profit on sales higher by 36% y / y (PLN 8,650 thousand). Thanks to the reduction of general and administrative costs by 4% y / y, it achieved much better results than in the previous year at the operating level (profit of PLN 979 thousand vs. loss of PLN 1,723 thousand a year earlier), EBITDA (profit of PLN 2 640 thousand vs. 60 PLN thousand in the third quarter of 2019) and net (profit of PLN 820 thousand vs. loss of PLN 2 040 thousand a year earlier).
Summing up, both the results of the parent company and its subsidiaries are higher than a year earlier, both in the third quarter of this year and cumulatively. This has been achieved despite the much weaker economic downturn linked to the pandemic, which has slowed down many sectors of the market, but fortunately not all of them. The sector that has successfully defended itself is the Telecommunications and Media Sector, where the Group recorded significant increases in revenues in Q3 (21% y / y) and cumulatively in three quarters (10% y / y). For years, our main market has been the telecommunications and media market. In recent months, offline activities have moved to the web, there has been an increase in mobile communication and the use of online media. This in turn means that the needs of telecommunications operators and media are growing.
