Atende Industries together with Wamtechnik, a battery pack producer, launched a montage stand of battery modules based on cooperative robots (cobots) controlled by the platform besmart.vision. This platform uses deep learning and allows for intelligent control of robots and their pursuit of actions previously reserved solely for humans such as recognition of the type and location of objects in three-dimensional space.
The stand launched in Wamtechnik automates the action of unloading a box with battery cells, diagnostics of those batteries and placing them in their final cell holders. Thanks to the usage of the besmart.vision platform a cobot is easily able to reach a battery cell, precisely place it in a point of verifying its charging status, and finally return it to the cell holder.
The stand based on intelligent robotics has been launched in a service model, involving delivering two cooperative robots (cobots) and the service of their steering mediated by the besmart.vision cloud. Automation of the battery packaging montage stand will enable Wamtechnik ensuring constant high quality production, maximization of efficiency and increasing economic effectiveness of the process.
“Automation is in current times one of the most crucial determinants of product line’s innovation. We constantly invest in the development of the production facilities, increasing work efficiency, improvement of parameters, stabilization of processes occurring throughout battery montage is for us one of the main assumed goals for the near future. Automation and robotics of production lines perfectly fits into the pursuit of these goals. We intend on broadening the sphere of our cooperation with the Atende company, hoping that this project will be an indication of the next ones. The world provides us with new challenges regarding designing and producing battery packs, not only concerning electric vehicles but powering the broadly understood industry. Automation of the production line aids us with these challenges” says Dariusz Czepiel, Vice President of the Board at Wamtechnik company.
